“Every time I see an adult on a bicycle, I no longer despair for the future of the human race.”
— H. G. Wells
Lovely people and really helpful. They gave us a lot of suggestions for the area. The bunkhouse was really nice, clean etc. And we had so much fun on the bicycle.
— Mirjam, Netherlands

The Bunk House was very cute and modern. The bed was really comfortable. The hosts were really nice and welcoming. Unfortunately I could only stay one night.

Eileen was so accommodating to my late check in. The bunk house was super cozy and cute! Great decor! Comfy bed and sheets! Clean bathroom and room! It was close to a lovely bike/hike trail that you could walk on to the lake or to Archie Bray. Would definitely stay again! Thanks! :)
— Danielle

A lovely cabin on a lovely property with lovely hosts. Received great suggestions for exploring Helena. Would love to stay again!

You don’t need to be rich…

…to live a stoked life.

When we were kids, we played in the woods because we couldn’t afford to do anything else. That’s what MTBCITY is all about. We took a devastated piece of ground in a forgotten corner of Helena, bought a hundred dollar cabin off of craigslist, committed to living frugally and invested every penny we could while working our rear ends off to create MTBCITY, USA! A place ANY bike nut can afford. Don’t have $10? You can do an hour’s work and you’re paid up.

It’s been quite a journey getting MTBCITY ready for you. We’re a small mom and pop campground built exclusively by and for mountain bikers. Over the past two years we’ve driven piles of nails, moved mountains of dirt and mixed a lot of concrete transforming the very damaged land that was the old site of Helena Asphalt into the beginnings of a campground that’s in an amazing location. We’re finally finished and want to make the location available to you.

You’ll have a great location, campfires, a deck to watch sunsets over the park, a bbq, a lake to swim and fish in, shower, toilet, picnic tables, an outdoor kitchen, a covered and secure bike rack, loaner town bikes and well water that is much better than town water. We’re offering a “get to know us rate” of $10 per person per night. Email MTBCITY406@GMAIL.COM to reserve space.

We look forward to meeting you,

Eileen & Conrad

Please note:

  • We can’t have dogs here because of our proximity to the Centennial Trail.

  • We do have some bee hives. Their foraging takes them away from the campground but if you’re allergic to or terrified of bees you might not want to stay here.
